This shirt lived a life, darling, and so did its alleged original owner, Betsy “The Maverick” O’Malley. Betsy didn’t just wear this over shirt, she owned it—much like she owned the hearts of three cowboy poets, two traveling salesmen, and a guitarist named Jim who never did learn how to play past the third chord. The shirt’s stitches tell tales of wild nights at honky-tonks and days spent racing across open fields, never once checking her rearview mirror. Some say Betsy lost the shirt in a particularly heated round of poker, but if you ask me, it simply walked off, tired from keeping up
